The Music Mobile began serving two Charleston County school programs during March of 2012. Our partnership with WINGS for Kids (www.wingsforkids.org) afforded us the opportunity to work with their students on the campus of James Simons/Memminger from 5:25-5:55 pm each Tuesday.
Our partnership with James Island Community Education and Murray LaSaine Elementary School Kaleidoscope afforded us the opportunity to work with their students on Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 - 5:00 pm. On Friday, May 25, 2012, the students enjoyed a cookout and End-of-Year Demonstration Performance at 4:30 pm in the Cafeteria.
Summer 2012 The Music Mobile visited the City of Charleston Department of Recreation at McMahon Park (old Hampton Park) at Cleveland St. and Rutledge Avenue. The students of this Teen Camp with 8th - 10th graders from various lowcountry schools met at 4:00pm each Wednesday during the months of June and July. A Demonstration Performances was held during their final class.

Our "Demonstration Performance" will be held during our last class on Friday, July 31, 2012. Last year we were very excited as one student from this camp decided that she wanted to come to our studio for further instruction. We are very proud of her. She is now playing classical music!
2013-2014 School Year Smalls Institute partnered with Haut Gap Middle School on Johns Island, SC bringing music classes to the students of the 21st Century Afterschool Program. The students meet every Wednesday from 5 - 5:30pm on the Music Mobile at the School's Campus. We also offer Performance opportunities to the Orchestra and Band students of Haut Gap Middle at each of our monthly fundraising events for extra credit in their classrooms.
Opportunities for Performance are also awarded to the students of the CE Williams Middle School Orchestra Program through a joint effort of their Orchestra teacher that serves their school and Haut Gap Middle.
We have also maintained our partnerships with the Kaleidoscope programs at James Island Elementary and Murray LaSaine Elementary schools; meeting with these schools on Thursdays and Fridays, respectively.
